چکیده
Abstract This study sought to understand the genetic basis of piping leaf margin phenotype in pineapple. To achieve this aim, a genome-wide association (GWAS) using mixed linear regression and logistic analysis was conducted on three pineapple diversity panels including seedling populations segregating for spiny, spiny-tip margins. identified single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers associated with phenotypes. A broad quantitative trait locus (QTL) positioned chromosome 23 between positions 240,475 2,369,197 bp most highly all analyses. Major candidate genes proposed are Zinc finger protein 2, 3, WUSCHEL-related homeobox 1 CONSTANS-like. Some other lower association, linked or nearby interest, also considered potentially involved varying degrees. All known be aspects stem cell maintenance, proliferation, epidermal differentiation, organogenesis, polarity, wall modification hormone signalling. It is possible each plays role either differentiation morphological expected relative gene might vary background.

Leaf margin phenotype-specific restriction-site-associated DNA-derived markers for pineapple (Ananas comosus L.)
To explore genome-wide DNA polymorphisms and identify DNA markers for leaf margin phenotypes, a restriction-site-associated DNA sequencing analysis was employed to analyze three bulked DNAs of F1 progeny from a cross between a 'piping-leaf-type' cultivar, 'Yugafu', and a 'spiny-tip-leaf-type' variety, 'Yonekura'. The parents were both Ananas comosus var. comosus. From the analysis, piping-leaf ...
متن کاملMolecular Cloning and Characterization of Four Genes Encoding Ethylene Receptors Associated with Pineapple (Ananas comosus L.) Flowering
Exogenous ethylene, or ethephon, has been widely used to induce pineapple flowering, but the molecular mechanism behind ethephon induction is still unclear. In this study, we cloned four genes encoding ethylene receptors (designated AcERS1a, AcERS1b, AcETR2a, and AcETR2b). The 5' flanking sequences of these four genes were also cloned by self-formed adaptor PCR and SiteFinding-PCR, and a group ...
متن کاملPurification, characterization, and antifungal activity of chitinases from pineapple (Ananas comosus) leaf.
Three chitinases, designated pineapple leaf chitinase (PL Chi)-A, -B, and -C were purified from the leaves of pineapple (Ananas comosus) using chitin affinity column chromatography followed by several column chromatographies. PL Chi-A is a class III chitinase having a molecular mass of 25 kDa and an isoelectric point of 4.4. PL Chi-B and -C are class I chitinases having molecular masses of 33 k...
متن کاملGenomic Survey, Characterization, and Expression Profile Analysis of the SBP Genes in Pineapple (Ananas comosus L.)
Gene expression is regulated by transcription factors, which play many significant developmental processes. SQUAMOSA promoter-binding proteins (SBP) perform a variety of regulatory functions in leaf, flower, and fruit development, plant architecture, and sporogenesis. 16 SBP genes were identified in pineapple and were divided into four groups on basis of phylogenetic analysis. Five paralogs in ...
متن کاملIn vitro Environmental Factors Controlling Root Morphological Traits of Pineapple (Ananas comosus L. Merr)
Abstract—Developing our knowledge of when pineapple roots grow can lead to improved water, fertilizer applications, and more precise culture management. This paper presents current understanding of morphological traits in pineapple roots, highlighting studies using incubation periods and various solid MS media treated with different sucrose concentrations and pH, which directly assess in vitro ...
